Over the years, TV, gaming, films, etc, have been blamed for causing kids to act out, becoming rude, anti-social and often violent.

I disagree.

I have a brother with 3 kids, and he lets them watch TV – with him and his wife. They are not left alone to “veg out” in front of the TV, or led to believe that this would be an option. TV in this household is a shared activity, where they sit down after dinner or watch a program or two before bed.

Yes, there are arguments over who gets to watch what, but they talk it through, and come to a fair conclusion. The system works, the family spends regular time together, and everyone enjoys themselves.

The only harm I can see is from those parents unwilling to govern their childrens activities – and a lazy parent will only encourage lazy children.
